I Kissed You Though I Didn’t Love You

It burns and it cleanses.
It destroys to fertilize barren lands.
Change beyond the vortex;
continuity halted in unexpected dissidence.
The ripples reach the shore at high tide,
struggling against the moon’s gravity,
it is silver cast and abundant against the midnight blue,
the stars that hush in the distance as waters rush a mile below.
Recant in an ancient feeling welling deeply over deeper waters,
a resemblance of something old and something new,
an apparition leaving notes at my door and familiar to all my seasoned exploits.
Immaterial, it’s hard to lavish in the necessity of the garrulous;
their fluidity wearing, how sweet though suckle on my soul.
